The recent ABSENTEE VOTER APPLICATION you received in the mail was sent to you from the STATE of MICHIGAN–NOT— by me your Township Clerk. If you recall in the November 6, 2018 Election, Proposal 18-3 was passed by you the voters which “allows for no-reason absentee voting”. Should you choose to vote by an ABSENTEE VOTER BALLOT simply sign and return this form to me, marking if it is for BOTH elections OR only for the August 4th OR November 3rd Election. You will then be mailed a ballot approximately 45 days before the election for you to complete and return by ELECTION DAY.
The form also gives you an “option” further down on the right hand side to sign up to be on a PERMANENT ABSENTEE VOTER LIST. I have been offering this service for the past five years and have a small list of people who always choose to vote this way. Being on the permanent AV list only means that you are mailed an ABSENTEE VOTER APPLICATION before EVERY election. It is your option to return it or not. You will ONLY receive a ballot if you sign and return this form to me – your Township Clerk. If at ANY time you prefer to vote in person you MAY do so. If you have ANY QUESTIONS please contact me via phone or email.
NOTE: THE POLLS WILL BE OPEN ON ELECTION DAY FROM 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. TO VOTE IN PERSON.
Please exercise your RIGHT to VOTE and be COUNTED.
